Role Overview 

In this position, you are accountable for the development of Approvals or Technical Data with medium to high complexity within general principles. You are part of an interdisciplinary and international development team and responsible for managing global approval processes cooperating closely with independent test labs and approval bodies to qualify and provide design requirements for innovative product solutions. You will be responsible for the approvals of one of our most important product lines.

  • Manage large size approval sub-projects with medium to high complexity within a bigger development project, product care or Approval project.
  • Sharpen project scope based on existing guidelines, competition landscape and specific application needs. Developing new guidelines close to general principals and support of development of guidelines in new fields.
  • Define test plan and approval concepts for anchor products based on existing guidelines and align interpretation of guidelines within global team and external experts.
  • Planning and steering of internal and/or external product testing (incl. providing test samples, ensure proper test procedure, timeline and costs).
  • Manage proper communication between all involved external test labs, independent experts and the approval bodies to ensure on time delivery of approval.
  • Presenting results in project team and steering meetings.
  • Discussing the assessment with external experts and approval bodies for projects with high complexity.
  • Documenting the internal and external assessment including creation of Declaration of Performance, technical data in Technical Manuals.

 

What will you bring 

  • Completed university degree Master or PhD in the field of structural engineering.
  • Professional experience (minimum 5 years) in following qualification processes, and development of construction products. Strong experience to practical activities, e.g. product testing, assessments (e.g. EADs and ACs) and design guidelines placed in Europe and in USA for Mechanical Anchors and Timber Structural Connectors
  • Strong application knowledge for Mechanical Anchors and Timber Structural Connections, strong analytical and conceptual skills and high goal-oriented working methods.
  • Team player with very good communication and negotiation skills in an interdisciplinary and international environment and with external partners, equipped with project management and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English, German a clear benefit but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
